EBRAINS AISBL was established in 2019 by six founding member institutions. Institutions apply to the EBRAINS Governing Board for status as Full Members or Associate Members.
Eligibility
Members can be public or private legal entities with a registered office in an EU member state, or in a country associated with the EU framework programme, that fulfil the requirements stated in Article 4.3 (full members) or Article 4.4 (associate members) of the EBRAINS AISBL Statutes.

Where these rights are exercised
Membership rights are exercised through the governing bodies of the association — the General Assembly, Governing Board, Management Board and National Node Board. These are documented once, in Governance.
