How to Add Services in Bulk

To assess a whole group’s services, or any private repository, put them in a catalogue that belongs to your organisation. This page walks through setting that up once and importing your repositories from GitHub or GitLab.

Set up the organisation and a catalogue

  1. In Ready, start setting up an organisation (Who is this catalogue for?). Enter the Organisation name; the rest is optional. Select Continue.
  2. Choose a plan. The free Workspace covers up to five public services. The Organisation plan (up to 50 services, private repositories, catalogues) is issued straight away with Licence this organisation; each person can hold one such licence.
  3. Create the catalogue: give it a Catalogue name, choose its Collectors (Generic + EBRAINS for services that run on EBRAINS infrastructure, otherwise Generic only) and select Create catalogue. Catalogues are private.

Import repositories

On Bring in what you already have, choose Connect a forge organisation:

  1. Choose the instance (GitHub, or a GitLab such as gitlab.ebrains.eu).
  2. Enter the GitHub Organisation, or the GitLab Group path (subgroups are included), and select List repositories.
  3. Narrow the list with Public only or Hide archived, check each repository’s type, and untick what you do not want.
  4. Select Add N services.

Private repositories need access: if Ready says No forge connected, add an access token under the catalogue’s credentials first.

Other ways in, on the same page:

  • Add one by hand: the intake form for a single service.
  • Move services you already own: brings services from your personal workspace into the catalogue, with their evidence.

Assess them

On the catalogue’s dashboard, the main button walks you through it:

  1. Choose collectors, if you have not yet.
  2. Collect all N: collects evidence for every service, one at a time, and scores it. Allow about two minutes per service. A progress bar shows how far it is, and Stop halts the run.
  3. Evaluate all re-scores every service from the evidence already collected, for example after the rubric changes. It does not collect again.

Each service can be collected again six hours after its last collection.
